During the year when Morning Musume。 Aya Matsuura was as popular as ever, Melon Anniversary was growing rapidly, and Maki Goto started her solo career in earnest during the year.

ZYX (read: ZYX), a unit of Halo Pro Kids led by Mari Yaguchi

This unit was created on June 30, 2002 by five members selected from “Hello! Project Kids” and Mari Yaguchi.

The unit was formed by the elder sister, Yaguchi, and released two CDs that year.

Birth of Mari Yaguchi’s adult unit “ROMANS

This unit is Morning Musume。 Mari Yaguchi and Rika Ishikawa from Morning Musume。 Country Musume。 Hitomi Saito from Melon Anniversary, and Ayaka from Coconuts Musume。 Ayaka from Coconuts Musume。
The performance was divided into two groups, one for singing and the other for rapping, which was a rare style in the music industry and in Halo Pro at that time.
The unit had a strong impact and each member had a strong individuality.

Morning Musume。 Sakura group and Morning Musume。 Otome-gumi.
The Sakura group consists of Natsumi Abe, Mari Yaguchi, Hitomi Yoshizawa, Ai Kago, Ai Takahashi, Risa Niigaki, Asami Konno, and Eri Kamei.
The Virginal group is composed of Keiori Iida, Rika Ishikawa, Nozomi Tsuji, Makoto Ogawa, Miki Fujimoto, Reina Tanaka, and Sayumi Michishige.
The cherry blossom group performed a characteristic medium-tempo song, while the otome group performed a strong, fast-rhythmic song.

Natsumi Abe duet with her mother?

Natsumi Abe’s first unit except shuffle unit Okei-san and Natsumi Abe (Morning Musume。)
She decided to do a duet with Keiko Shikaku, vocalist of Komuro etc. and Rokubun Sen!
The nostalgic tune of the song, which seems to envision the scenery of the Showa era, is harmonized by the two, and the lyrics are finished with an interesting exchange between parent and child.

Morning Musume。 Reina Tanaka from Morning Musume, Hello! Project Kids, Airi Suzuki and Masashi Natsuyaki from Hello!
I did not realize it at the time, but these three members are still active as singers with too high singing ability.
The origin of the unit name comes from the fact that karaoke used to be written in a thick book with the names of singers and songs in “aieo” order. Therefore, the name was chosen so that the name would appear first.
It was later decided that the unit name could be called with any intonation.
Airi Suzuki, who sang in the center, said on a music program that she was in the early grades of elementary school at the time and sang the song without understanding the meaning of the lyrics, “I’ve lost my mind.

The year 2003 saw the birth of many units. The members may have had some doubts as to what kind of unit they were, but it was a year of great fun and satisfaction as they brought out a wide variety of music and various units to the world.
