Area Introduction
Water Area
The Water Area is an endless expanse of water with carp swimming on the surface.
Koi are affected by the presence of people in the water.
They also swim under the influence of other Koi.
And when the carp bump into people, they scatter as flowers.
Throughout the year, the flowers that bloom change with the seasons.
Lines are drawn by the trajectory of the swimming carp, which are influenced by the presence of people.
The work continues to be drawn in real time by a computer program.
It is not a replay of pre-recorded images.
The work as a whole does not duplicate the previous state, but continues to transform itself under the influence of the viewer’s behavior.
The painting at this moment cannot be seen again.
When taking pictures, it is important to be a mermaid. Be prepared to wear a costume.
The Garden
The garden area is a garden of flowers, a mass of flowers, filled in a three-dimensional way.
The space is filled with flowers, but where people are present, space is created by the flowers going up.
Thus, people can walk around slowly in any direction in the mass filled with flowers.
When you encounter others in the work, each space is connected and becomes one space.
Here you are a fairy. We recommend that you become a wasp, a grasshopper, or a praying mantis. If you can visit in costume as a caterpillar, you are a brave man!
Public Area
In the Public Area, when people stand on the artwork, a black absolute is created and the shape of the flame changes. The work will continue to change forever, influenced by people’s behavior.
Flames are phenomena of light and heat produced by combustion, as well as vaporized and decomposed matter in a stream.
It is also our sensory experience when we look between phenomena and matter.
People perceive the flame, a sensory experience, as a single object, and sometimes feel life in it.
The flow of the burning gas draws lines on the space, and the three-dimensional set of these lines creates the flame.
The flame is flattened and drawn by what Team Lab considers “hyper-subjective space.
If you keep looking at the flames, you will fall asleep. Be careful not to fall asleep too much and get trapped inside the museum.
