1What is Tokyo German Village?

Tokyo German Village is located in Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture, which is easily accessible from Tokyo, the center of Japan. Although it is called Tokyo, it is located in Chiba. I will say this twice because it is very important. It is in Chiba! It is a leisure spot filled with unique and exciting attractions. It is one of the few places in Japan where visitors can enjoy authentic German culture, and is well known by tourists and locals alike. First of all, when you step into the park, you will be enveloped in an atmosphere as if you have wandered into a corner of Europe. Beautiful gardens, windmills, and lovely houses spread out one after another, and new discoveries await you every time you walk through the park. Especially during the cherry blossom season, the cherry blossoms in full bloom and the German buildings blend together beautifully, making it a perfect photo spot. The flowers bloom differently in each season, and the atmosphere of the background changes as well. Please check the website to find your favorite floral space and enjoy a walk through the beauty of nature.

2 Attractions

Various shows and events are held as part of the attractions of Tokyo German Village. Powerful stage performances by dancers and musicians invited from the real Germany will take visitors into a world of excitement and emotion. There are also a variety of seasonal events, such as the Christmas Market and Beerfest, where visitors can enjoy the traditions of Germany. The food is also carefully selected. Authentic German beer, sausages, pretzels, and more can be enjoyed at reasonable prices, satisfying even those who seek authentic flavors. The cafes and restaurants offer a relaxing atmosphere with delicious food. Tokyo Deutsche Mura also offers a wide variety of activities for parents and children, couples, and friends to enjoy together. Ride attractions such as a miniature train and Ferris wheel, handmade workshops, an art gallery, and a petting zoo are available for visitors of all ages. There is a rare area called the World Reptile Kingdom. Visitors can also try their hand at harvesting a variety of seasonal foods. The museum is also full of edutainment elements for children in particular, allowing them to have fun and learn at the same time.

3 How to fill your stomach

Tokyo German Village has three restaurants where you can dine. Some of them offer take-out, and in the grassy area in the center of the park, you can bring your own lunch or spread out your leisure sheets for a meal. On a nice day, you can have a good time on the lawn. However, if you just spend a normal day and go to a restaurant when you get hungry, your calorie intake for the day will be high. You should either do five laps around the park, exercise at the Sports Land, play putt-putt golf or try the hole-in-one challenge to use muscles you don’t normally use and prepare for sore muscles tomorrow, or play on the playground equipment at the Wanpaku Hiroba, where grownups can reminisce about their boy-girl days.

4Can you kiss a reptile?

This may be the only such place in Japan where you can kiss a reptile, the Insect and Reptile Kingdom of the World in the Lake Area. Here you can experience a chameleon, Hercules beetle, rainbow stag beetle, doctor fish (hand), and electric catfish all in one place. Try not to electrocute yourself by lifting the electric catfish and swinging it around. If you must swing it around, make sure there are no elderly people around. You can also kiss the chameleon! Beware that it may turn skin-colored and be on your neck when you find out! While you’re lifting the chameleon, it might extend its long tongue and kiss you, so be sure to take a picture of it.

In addition, there are piranhas, goldfish feeders, insects to win in a trap, and much more inside the Insect and Reptile Kingdom of the World!

5 Summary

As a center for cultural exchange between Japan and Germany, Tokyo Deutsches Mura conveys to people the joy and depth of different cultures through a variety of programs and events. With its diverse array of activities and entertainment, it is truly an all-day destination where new surprises and excitement await you every time you visit.
