Rie Tomosaka, from Idol to Actress

Culture

Ms. Tomosakarie, who is now married and raising a child, is also an actress.
There was a time when she was active as an idol and a singer. I wrote this article because I like many of her songs and wanted to take this opportunity to introduce her to the public.
Starting out as a big producer, Ms. Tomosakarie is a certain celebrity who has been active as a singer while providing music for her last single so far.
Who in the world followed her? I’m curious, aren’t you? Before introducing the recommended songs
This is Miyuki’s role in the famous work “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo” (The Case Files of Kindaichi Boy). Some of you may know it, right?
Now, let me introduce some of the songs he released in the late 90’s.

1st SINGLE released on April 10, 1996 [Escalation]

She was 16 years old at the time of release, but as you can see from the jacket here, she had a mature look.
This song was written by Yasushi Akimoto, who provided the music for her first album.
The song was written by Yasushi Akimoto, who provided the music for her first album.
What struck me about this song was the lyrics in the chorus
I was very impressed by the lyrics “Escalation, in spite of not knowing,” which is one of my favorite songs.

2nd SINGLE released on August 7, 1996 [sneeze]

The CD jacket looks like a face that looks like it is sulking or on the verge of sneezing
The music on this album has a more fun and faster rhythm than the previous album.
I like the interesting part of the lyrics, “When the wind blows, someone sneezes,” as if you are reading a book or a diary.
The person I like actually has a partner, but I like you too! I wonder if you sneeze because I’m gossiping about you? I love the air of youth, the idea of something like that. This song reminds me of that feeling that disappears when you grow up.

3rd SINGLE released on February 19, 1997 [I’m going to cry]

Released during the graduation season, a perfect title for the “farewell season”.
This is the first single with a medium tempo and gentle tune.
Please pay attention to the CD jacket!
It anticipates the “toothache pose” that was popular around the end of the Heisei era.
The song may not be so well-known as a preceding single since the album was scheduled to be released, but it is a very nice song.

1stALBUM released on April 16, 1997 [un]

This is Tomosaka Rie’s first original album, and the first disc was very powerful!
First of all, the disc is “picture label”, with 10 kinds of photo cards and a handwritten message!
It was a very luxurious finish, and she had been a singer produced by Akimoto-sama until this album.
My favorite song on this album is “Let’s go to the sea if you fall in love -RemixVersion-”, which is very bright and pop and looks great when you listen to it by the sea!
Nowadays, it is becoming a trend that you can just get the soundtrack of the song, but CDs show the color of the era with the case and special offers, so please buy the CDs.

4th SINGLE released on May 16, 1997 [2 persons]

It happened that you can hear Tomosaka Rie’s voice in the anime as she used to be in the drama “Kanedaichi Shonen no Jikenbo” (The Case Files of Kanedaichi Shonen).
This is a recut single of the song “2 People” that was included in the album.
Therefore, there was only one song, and the CD was priced at 500 yen. The jacket was designed not by Mr. Akimoto himself, but by the anime “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo” (The Case Files of Kindaichi Boy).
It was the last single produced by Mr. Akimoto.

5thSINGLE released on May 13, 1998 [In love]

It has been about a year since the last single was released, but the song as “Tomosakarie” has been vacant since she has been working as “Sakatomoeri” in a different style during that time.
This song was produced by Toko Furuuchi, and features a main character who falls in love with someone she was close to, only to find out that the other person already loves someone else.
In the second part of the song, there is a scene in which she pretends to be her lover, and the lyrics are full of love.
I fell in love with this song and bought the first CD of Rie Tomosaka’s works after it was released, and I liked it so much at the time that I rented it many times before finally buying it.
I sang along at karaoke, and I miss the days when I sang the lyrics to “I’m in love” without really understanding the meaning of the words.
I think it was around this song that the band started to become less of an idol and more of an artist.

6thSINGLE released on August 26, 1998 [Aishii Toki]

This song was written by “YOU” who is active as a variety show and model.
The song has a very refreshing tone, and it depicts the end of summer. I love the chorus of the song, which is the most powerful and enveloping of all the singles so far.
The song has a bossa nova finish and is sung gently, which I like now that I’ve grown up and am listening to it often in 2025.
I love the sound of stringed instruments that soften the flow of time. I felt that the part where she says “Oh summer day sweet sweet summer day” in a calm voice represents the end of summer.

7thSINGLE released on January 27, 1999 [Cappuccino]

This piece was created with Ms. Ringo Sheena, who was not that well known at the time, and produced under the name “Sheena Ringo”.
The song was later self-covered by the artist herself and became a topic of conversation.
Cappuccino is a mixture of the bitter coffee part, the black part of coffee and the white milk part of coffee, and the lyrics created by mixing that mixture, the part where the temperature changes since it is basically a hot drink, and the events of love are indescribable scenery, which I think everyone has experienced, right? It’s the kind of song that brings your feelings for the person you love to the forefront.
In the music video, the scenes of clinging to a shiny pole and singing in a sexy scene with a black navel outfit against a pure white background are very attractive.
The music video for the coupling song “Lily Magnolias Cream” was also made by Ringo Shiina.
Also written by Ringo Shiina, the song begins with a whistling sound and features Rie Tomosaka playing the guitar.

2ndALBUM released on February 24, 1999 [Murasaki.]

This is Tomosaka Rie’s second album, and the first edition had a paper type case with a medium opening and a scene as a bonus.
It contains single songs “Koishiteru”, “Aishii Toki”, “Cappuccino” and their respective coupling songs.
My favorite song on the album is “Shampoo,” which has a bouncing piano sound and its rhythm makes me feel as if I am shampooing.
Where did the title “Murasaki. I haven’t looked up where the title “Murasaki.” comes from, but there is a lyric in “Cream of Magnolias” that says “When the Murasaki is done,” and I wonder if it is related to that.
I am curious!

Best album [rie tomosaka best] released on October 8, 1999

It’s a best of album with arranged versions of all the singles and couplings!
I was surprised that the best album would be released in the same year that the album was released in February!
Since the album was released in the fall, the jacket had a calm color and scenery.
The first edition was a paper type case with a middle opening. This album is wonderful in that it contains the works of Mr. Akimoto, Toko Furuuchi, Ringo Sheena, and other big-name producers all on one disc!
It is a best album, but there is one new song in it, which was written by Yuka Kawamura, who composed SMAP’s first million-selling song “Yozora Nomukou”.

8th SINGLE [Shoujo Robot] released on June 21, 2000

The last single CD as of September 2024.
The song was composed with Ms. Ringo Shiina, and CD sales increased significantly from the previous work “Cappuccino,” and Ms. Ringo also covered the song later.
The lyrics are unique to Ms. Ringo, and the words “Wagoto wa chu ni nikatta” have never been used in any of her previous works, so this song brings out a new side of Rie Tomosaka.
The piano sound is a unique feature of the song, and the dull thud at the end makes it sound like a broken robot, but the overall singing voice is lovely, so the match makes the song addictive.

I learned about the existence of the song when I knew the actress Tomosakarie, and was inspired by “Koishiteru” (I’m in love with you).
I love the way she takes the music created by various people and changes it to her own color, and I love her singing voice.

dacchi

I have all the CDs.
My favorite songs are “I’m in love” and “Cappuccino”.
